HEAD CHEFMeet Moe BaddourahAt the age of 16, Moe Baddourah left his family in Lebanon to follow in the footsteps of his uncle, Andy Shlon, owner of Andy’s Deli in Columbia. When Baddourah came to Columbia to live as a teenager, his uncle Andy took him under his wing. Moe went on and earned both his BA and his Masters Degree from the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at the University of South Carolina.
In the 1990s, he returned to Columbia to manage The Eclaire Pastry Shop where he worked for almost a decade. He then became involved in the founding of the Mediterranean Tea Room on Devine Street and served as head chef for many years. Most recently, Moe designed and built Moe’s Grapevine Italian Restaurant in the Rosewood area. He served as head chef for this Italian-Mediterranean restaurant before following his desire to serve his community and run for Columbia City Council. Moe Baddourah was elected to serve and sworn in on July 1, 2012 and has since been a strong advocate for the community and for small businesses. Baddourah lives in Shandon with his two sons, Zeke and Eli. |
